Easter

Easter is one of my favorite times of the year. I was a little saddened to hear others talk of the Easter bunny, and if your kids 'believe'. Seriously, who believes that there is a big Easter bunny that brings chocolate. No wonder our society is so overweight and hopeless.

What a hope that we have in Christ Jesus. Easter is such a celebration of his gift of salvation to us. Although we take time out to remember his death on Good Friday, and the horrid sacrifice that he paid, his sacrifice was such a gift to us, his children. It was because of that sacrifice that I am a child of God.

But it is not a solemn holiday, it is followed with such rejoicing. Christ is risen, he is risen indeed!!! We have hope in a living God, because death could not get a grip on Christ. Wow, that is why I love Easter.

Now, that all said, we still love chocolate, and Easter eggs, but our hope is not in the bunny, it is in so much more.

This was the first year we attempted to color easter eggs, which was surprisingly easy, except for blowing out the eggs. We didn't do anything fancy, just dipped the eggs in the color. Maybe next year we'll get fancy. Natalie loves to be where her big sister is, so we're left trying to make sure she doesn't pull everything off the table.

And I think she has a thing for the boys, already!!! Nat seems to love boys. She doesn't get to see Graham often, but has a blast hanging out with him. And the infamous Uncle Walter, Natalie screems when she sees him, so precious.

I didn't get any pics of the easter egg hunt, as we were stuck in doors with the torrential rains outside. But we always have a blast just hanging out at holiday time.

School Play

Chelsea participated in the school play this year, which was Beauty & the Beast. Auditions took place last fall, practices started in December, and the show was in April. It took a lot of work to get to the final product, and the kids did amazing.

This is Chelsea and her stage makeup. She looks too grown up with makeup on, but boy she's a beauty.
Chelsea was a villager in the play. Love the get-up. My favorite part of the play was the scene where the dishes and cutlery were chasing the villagers. Cheslea was galloping away from a fork (or knife, can't remember) across the stage. It was a good laugh.

There is the entire crew. The stage backdrops (hand painted by a mom), props and costumes were 1st class.

Oh, how they grow up...

Chelsea's in middle school, and this was the first science fair that she's ever done. Her project was on Determining the Iodine Content of Salt, which is an experiment we found on a website that gives great suggestions for science fairs. Chelsea did great, gathering supplies, conducting the experiment, documenting and putting the final presentation together. She did so great that she was selected to go to the Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair. Way to go Chelsea!!!

And then on our younger front, this little baby of mine discovered Minigos (actually, PC's version) and eating with a spoon on her own at the same time. We struggle getting Nat to eat anything to completion, but she finished the yogurt on her own before I knew it. I guess she's not so much a baby anymore.

Spring outdoors

We have had some glimpses of spring over the past month, and I got to take a few photo's of my girls outside. Natalie is loving the outdoors, and Chelsea, the great big-sister that she is, is so patient with her and will take her for a walk. They have such an amazing bond, these girls. We are so blessed.

Another year has gone by

Last week was our anniversary, and I can't believe another year has gone by. Sometimes it feels like yesterday that we got married, sometimes it feels like forever since we got married. These three years have definately been an adventure that has stretched both myself and my husband what we imagined.

We have realized many things in our marriage, but one thing we know for sure, marriage is hard work. We knew going into our marriage that committment was number one, and we would never waiver from that. This was a decision we made, and being married is a continual decision, and we continue to chose to love eachother and commit to eachother.

I am very fortunate for the husband that I have. He is a very dedicated husband and father; he is a provider; he is handsome; he is a hard worker; he is dedicated to Christ. It is good for me to stop and come up with descriptors of who my husband is, reminds me of why I married him in the first place.

I love you honey, and happy anniversary.

I found a really neet contest...

...through one blog and another. It's a fabric give-away. I have just started getting interested in quilting (I'm so jealous of those who do such an amazing job), so I've been searching the internet for resources. The site is "above all fabric", check it out.

A small glimpse of God's love for his child

This year had a rough start to it with tension that had a mind of its own. So much so that I didn't care how it started, and I wasn't about to change it. But Sunday was drawing ever so close.

One part of being a part of a wonderful body of Christians at Heritage is the monthly communion we participate in, a communion with our Lord, a chance to sit at our Father's table. The start of every month forces me to look at my relationship with Christ and with others to see if I am worthy of this communion. This time, I knew it was coming, and I just didn't care. Wow, how selfish of me, and how stupid, to deprive myself of joining my Father's table, remembering the sacrifice he made for me and disregarding it all together.

The thing that amazes me more and more each day is the love God has for us, that he seeks us, he seeks me. He desires communion with us, with me. This time, God sought out me and made the tension right despite me, and did it so that I could commune with HIM!!! How amazing is our Father's love!!!

"I love you Lord, and I lift my voice, to worship you, oh my soul, rejoice. Take joy my King, in what you hear, may it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear." Today I sing this hymn because my Father in Heaven is so amazing, I want to lift my voice, I want to express my thanks for loving someone as lowely as me.

And I had to share this as a testament of how AMAZING my God is!!! God truely desires a relationship with his children. He truely love his child, he love me!!!
